    Honestly, we don't know. Myself nor members of the coalition did not organize this event -- we just were participants.

  3. Personally, I've never been to a protest.

    Do you really need a permit for a meeting where a bunch of folks meet for an hour in a residential neighborhood, walking up and down the street holding signs?

    We were in the street (there were no sidewalks) and not causing a commotion and we did not trespass on to private property.

    Just curious.

  4. The right to assemble is part of our First Amendment rights as US citizens--The right of a citizen to peacefully 1) parade and gather or 2) demonstrate support or opposition of public policy or 3) express one's views is guaranteed by the freedom of speech and the right to peaceably assemble.
