Retribution: KCET Documentary On It's Way
BTW -- Pepsico, Inc. is Tropicana, and they erred when they did not respond to our pleas for help and concern over their illegal advertising. Pepsico initially may have been unaware of the dangers of their advertising, but not to even respond to numerous calls and letters -- utterly shameful! And their recent supergraphics' campaign around the westside -- an insult to put it mildly. That's their corporate responsibility -- in-your-face all-over-the-place advertising.
We do give them credit for one thing -- several tenants that wrote in received some discount coupons for their next purchase of orange juice. Hmm, how come we didn't get any? We suggest you take a look at all the companies that Pepsico owns and avoid them.
Oh, getting back on track -- Our story got really ugly when only after a month of journaling the building events on this blog, the owners hand delivered a "default notice and a 30 day to cure" to Dr. Graff to inform him that he was in violation of his lease. The sequence of legal letters and comments can be reviewed by clicking here. To make a long story short, Dr. Allan was singled out. We suggest you ask Joe Agapay how many other offices have been served with a default notice of this kind? My guess is zero. Not to rehash the issue, I'm prepared to answer any questions the public may have. Just send in a qualified comment and I will answer it.
In addition to our rant, more 3rd party validation is on it's way. KCET has had a keen interest with our activities here. The show SoCal Connected brings local issues to the public and is set to air a 4th documentary on the signage problems in L.A. The heart of this story will feature how some citizens of Los Angeles are affected by this issue. From our understanding, we will play a big part in this documentary that will include the protest at Rahban's estate.
To get you up to speed, we suggest that you view previous episodes that can be found on the Internet. We have linked it for your convenience (it's already referenced in the "related links" section on the left bar):

We believe the show will air on Thursday, April 16th and will confirm all the details in an upcoming post.

I'm not certain if you are aware of the illegal activity your company Pepsico, Inc is involved in and also endangering the lives of hundreds if not thousands of citizens in Los Angeles. I first direct you to a recent post dated Thursday, Jan. 9th from the blog at www.10801takesigndown.
Tropicana -- Is a division of PEPSICO, INC.
The CEO of Pepsico, Inc is Indra Nooyi.
The public would like a statement from Pepsico, Inc.
Respond to the following questions:
Do you know that this particular sign is illegal?
Do you know that this sign is endangering the occupants of an entire 6 story building?
Do you have other supergraphics that drape over buildings with windows?
Do you ever check with fire and building & safety agencies before you put up signs like this?
Regarding this sign: Refer to the enclosed documents and the fire code violations.

LIVES STILL AT RISK AT 10801
In lieu of an order from the fire department to take his Mega Supergraphics' Sign down, and a cry from the City of Los Angeles including a 23 count criminal complaint handed down by City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo last Friday, owner Frank Rahban of 10801 National Blvd. in Los Angeles, continues to defy the order.
When this supergraphic (thank Pepsico, Inc. for being part of this) went up on Tues. evening, Jan. 13th, common sense told us, this can't be a safe thing to drape across the building.
We took action and the fire dept. came and cited the building and told them the sign had to be removed by Thurs. Jan 29th -- YES!
The L.A. Times took action and splashed a front page story about this problem on Tues. Jan. 20th -- YES!
The city took action and held a press conference joined by the media -- Council member Jack Weiss and City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo on Wed. Jan 28th right at the foot of 10801 -- YES!
The city again took action and filed criminal charges against the owner and others for defying the order to take down the sign on Fri. Jan. 29th -- YES!
Once again, it's obvious that the laws are not strong enough to prevent this injustice even when lives are at stake.
We're asking for more media coverage right now.
Also, we're also asking for the 41st mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio R. Villaraigosa to step forward.

Campaign Contributions and Conflicts of Interest
We bring your attention to an article that just came up regarding Council member Jack Weiss. See Jack Weiss Took Dough From Outdoor Ad Pushers. This was posted today in the LA Weekly blog by Christine Pelisek and it raises questions as to how much impact these facts way on their public decisions. This is a message and thoughts from Dr. Allan. I've never been active politically and I probably represent a large percentage of residents in Los Angeles. I didn't even know what district I was in or who my Representative was until now. I can't say that I am proud of this, but this is the case at this point in time. I have a busy career and never paid much attention to politics. My main concern on this issue was to stand up for myself and this injustice placed upon me and the tenants of 10801.
In this light, maybe my opinion might be more valuable to Council member Weiss than someone with the inside scoop.
First I'm gonna put myself in Jack Weiss's shoes regarding donations. I would accept a donation from anyone to help drive the campaign. The exception would be that I would not accept any money from anyone that is involved with illegal activities. So, the statement comes up in this article that Jack received money from Barry Rush of World Wide Rush. Since his sign is on our building, I feel that this guy is a bandit and would refuse his contribution. Did Jack have knowledge of Barry Rush and his illegal activities?
This is part reason most folks don't get involved politically. There's such battles that go on to get elected and it's unrealistic that you get in as a saint. There are so many issues in society that upset me and I would not feel comfortable dealing with all these battles. Hats off to the politicians that strive for justice and fight for our causes.
One thing is for certain -- Jack Weiss and the Fire Department have come to my corner and reached out to help. Council member Weiss held a press conference right at the foot of my building. He has spoken out against the injustice and has made suggestions for righting this problem.
That's more than I can say for Barry Rush (signage derelict that rapes our landscape), Pepsico, Inc (A company that promotes poison to the public), and Frank Rahban (real estate lawful low life).
We welcome your comments.
